We have also started an open source initiative. We now utilize open source platforms as well as custom programming when building applications for our clients. We made this decision in order provide the best possible solutions to our customers needs. Some open source applications such as WordPress represent the best the web has to offer in online publishing and we want our customers to have access to that sort of solution. We have also decided to use the CodeIgniter frame work for all custom application development. In addition to utilizing these fantastic platforms, we are also going to give back to the open source community. We are currently in the testing phase of a CodeIgniter based shopping cart and a trouble ticket/project management application that are set to be released as open source applications. Though there are already many open source shopping carts and a few open source ticketing system, none of them allow for quick and easy modifications. Our goal is to build and distribute open source applications that are easy for end users to use, and easy for developers to customize.
